MEDELLIN

Medellin is in The valle de aburra, 500 km. west of Bogota. it is the capital of the department of Antioquia and it is the most important industrial city of Colombia. The population of the city and its suburbs is increasing rapidly. Now it is over 3 million and it is about 9% of the total population of the country. Many parts of the city are beautiful but, like other Colombian cities Medellin has many problems.
Unemployment is one of these problems. The main streets are crowded with people telling all sort of things and people trying to make their own living. Another problem is the insecurity: the crime is rate the highest in Colombia. But the city government is trying to find a solution to this problem.
